The skin is the largest organ of the body. The skin is also the only organ which is constantly exposed to the elements of the outside world. Over the years, exposure to the sun, wind and other factors can take a toll on your skin.

Skin Peel treatments are designed to accelerate the removal of old dead cells at the surface of the skin, bringing forth the softer, smoother skin below. Unlike the more aggressive Laser resurfacing techniques these are relatively gentle.

There are several types of chemical peel, each using different chemicals and fruit acids. Light and medium depth peels use TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) Peel. The gentler alternative is available in the form of a Glycolic Acid Peel.

TCA Easy Peel

The TCA peel works by causing sloughing or removal of the upper layers of skin. By removing the upper layers of skin, the overall skin texture is dramatically smoothed, superficial wrinkles are quickly eliminated and colour irregularities are improved.

TCA peels have been used for many years to treat facial wrinkles, age spots, pigment abnormalities, mask of pregnancy and other superficial skin problems such as sun damaged skin. (Including pre-cancerous lesions), acne / acne scarring, freckles, appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and the appearance of superficial scars.

The major advantage of the Easy peel is that it can be made in different strengths. When used in lesser strengths there is very little down time and recovery period. This means that you can be back to work and normal activities within a few days.

The Skin Peels Procedure

Treatment is administered in a single session, of around 15-30 minutes duration. During this period, when the peel is applied, you may experience a slight burning sensation. This sensation is so slight, no sedation or anaesthesia is required. Soon after a post peel mask is applied to cool the area and help the peel work in deeper tissues.

At the end of your treatment session, you will be provided with a treatment information leaflet. This document acts as a reference card to enable you to maximise the benefits from your treatment.

More than one TCA peel may be needed to achieve the desired result. This will be decided during your free consultation with a treatment doctor.
