You’ve saved up enough money for the procedure you would like. You’ve done the research, you’ve thought about your motivation and you are confident you are ready for a consultation. What happens if something else is then thrown into the equation that you were not expecting? For example, if you attend a consultation for breast enlargement but your surgeon recommends you should also have a breast lift to achieve optimal results, potentially doubling the price, what should you do? Bearing in mind what we have said about expectation, could you expect great results by going against the surgeons recommendation and opting for just the breast augmentation alone. What would you do? Would you understand why the surgeon has recommended this? It may be that in his opinion by having the implants your nipples would look too low, therefore requiring an uplift. Patients sometimes say they do understand as they are simply just interested in having bigger breasts.
You’ve decided on having cosmetic surgery and are about to meet your surgeon for the first time. What information do you need to know and what questions should you ask? Here’s our list to print out and take along to your consultation: Continue reading “Questions for your Surgeon”

Your relationship with your surgeon must be built on trust. You will need to be open and honest at all times if you are to be happy with your results.

It is perfectly normal and healthy to seek improvement and rejuvenation. However, becoming obsessive about a particular feature on one’s body is not healthy. People who worry excessively about their appearance or body image make poor candidates for cosmetic surgery.
We all view ourselves in an individual and subjective way. For example, an individual may be concerned about a particular feature of her or his body, while this has gone completely unnoticed by the people around her or him. Continue reading “Motivations for undergoing Cosmetic Surgery”
It is one of the primary tasks of the Surgeon to assess your expectations and make sure these are realistic. A surgeon must explain to you what to expect and what not to expect.
In my experience most patients do not expect miracles. But there are still many misconceptions about Cosmetic Surgery. One common misconception is that you will not have scars. Another misconception is that perfection can be achieved through surgery. There is no such thing as perfection. Continue reading “Realistic Expectations and Cosmetic Surgery”
Torment of the Toyboy
