Vaser Lipo & Liposuction

For our patients who are trying to remove stubborn areas of fat that are hard to lose through exercise and a healthy diet. LINIA offers Vaser lipo, standard liposuction and soft liposculpture procedures.

We use the latest techniques, where unwanted excess fat cells can be removed from almost any part of the face or body in order to improve the tone of the skin, giving both men and women an overall slimmer, slender look.

We can treat multiple areas one time, with the most popular areas for liposculpture being the stomach, thighs, buttocks, chin and male chest.

What’s the Difference Between Vaser Liposuction and Soft Liposuction?

The Vaser Liposuction Procedure

Vaser (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction is a new, revolutionary technique that is used for fat removal and contouring different areas of the body.

The main advantage of Vaser liposuction technology is that it allows the extraction of bodily fat but can leave other connective tissues intact, which in the end gives much smoother results and less bruising.

The Vaser system has a range of purposefully designed probes and precision cannulas that can be used to treat different areas of fat using ultrasound, thus meaning smaller, delicate areas can be treated effectively as well as larger, bulky areas.

The Soft Liposculpture Procedure

At LINIA, we use our special technique of Soft Liposculpture when multi-layered fat removal is achieved by using fat loosening solutions. This helps reduce the bruising and can also assist the process of recovery.

Following the removal of fat, a deep massage is performed during the operation. This procedure is called “Liporedistribution”. Liporedistribution helps reduce the risk of lumpiness that can occur during liposuction and enhances the resolution of swelling.

Superficial liposuction is performed using special thin cannulas to aid skin tightening and achieve a firmer skin tone.

Which areas of the body can be treated with Vaser?

  • Arms
  • Hip area
  • Chest
  • Knees
  • Breasts
  • Ankles
  • Waist and abdominal area
  • Buttocks
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Neck
  • Face – Vaser is perfect for treating delicate, smaller areas on the face.

What are the benefits of Vaser liposuction?

  • Less pain than traditional liposuction
  • Often a smoother look is achieved with Vaser
  • Less invasive, therefore quicker recovery
  • Less bleeding and bruising

What’s the cost of Vaser liposuction?

Due to the nature of Vaser liposuction and the different areas of the body that can be treated, it can be difficult to provide a list of accurate prices. Consultations at LINIA are completely free of charge, and if you’re considering this procedure and you would like a price, you are more than welcome to come along to one of our clinics. Here you can meet one of our surgeons, who will examine you and provide you with a price based on your individual needs.

What Are the Risks and Likely After-Effects of Vaser Liposuction?

Cosmetic surgery, like any other surgery, involves a trauma to the human body and with this there can be risks that are associated with any cosmetic procedure.

Each patient’s body is different, and depending on many factors (discussed further below), the following side effects may occur:

  • Infection (rare) – areas which have been treated can sometimes become inflamed and a build-up of fluid can occasionally ooze from incisions
  • Occasional irregularity underneath the skin which may need further liposuction for adjustment
  • Tiredness
  • Swelling, pain, bruising and numbness (more common with traditional liposuction)
  • Temporary lumps and irregular bumps under the skin

As mentioned above, there are many factors that may increase your risk of side effects, some of which you can control in order to get the best effect possible from your Vaser lipo including:

  • level of fitness
  • age
  • genetic profile
  • smoking
  • drugs – either medical or recreational
  • alcohol consumption
  • being overweight
  • size of the area treated

These factors will all influence the speed of healing and the risk of you experiencing side effects.

Smoking is strongly discouraged because it increases the risk of infection, wound breakdown as well as thrombosis (blood clots). The larger the area treated, the more acute the symptoms can be.

The most reported after effect of this procedure is lumpiness underneath the skin surface and the appearance of hard, irregular bumps beneath the surface. Although this is normal and will decrease during the healing process in the weeks and months after the operation. This side effect can be aided by regular, frequent and deep massage.

It is important to note that heavier bruising can happen, particularly if you tend to bleed heavier than a usual person or have been taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs.

For this reason, at LINIA we check your clotting profile and full blood count before the operation.

Before and After Results of Vaser Liposuction

Procedures such as Vaser and other liposuction techniques are performed to improve your body shape and help to refine and redefine your figure, which can produce excellent, life changing results. Patients who have had Liposuction surgery have commented how they are now more confident in themselves, have a greater self-esteem and feel happier with how others perceive them.

Patients are more body confident and no longer feel the need to hide themselves away in baggy clothes to cover up areas of their body they dislike.

Will my consultation be with a surgeon?

All consultations pre surgery take place with a specialised surgeon who has years of experience and training. We believe that only a surgeon can help and advise you on the best procedure to achieve the results you would desire.

During your initial consultation, an expert surgeon at LINIA will discuss the results you are looking for and explain the procedure so that you understand every stage of the process as well as the aftercare. The most important outcome from the consultation is that you feel completely at ease in our care, and you are fully aware of the procedure and the resulting enhancement.

Are your consultations free?

All our consultations are free with no obligation. You will be provided with specialist advice and information relevant to achieve the perfect outcome from your surgery.

What will happen after the operation?

Your surgeon will visit you once you have recovered to check that all is well after the procedure. After, the nurse will help you to put on a snug-fitting pressure garment over the treated area/s to provide support and reduce swelling. You will usually be discharged the same day, although occasionally an overnight stay may be recommended if you have had multiple areas treated. On leaving you will be given medication and post-operative instructions along with appropriate telephone numbers in case you need to contact us at any time.

Week 1-2

You will experience some pain and discomfort in the first few days after the operation, and particularly once the effects of the anaesthetic begin to wear off. This can be managed with regular medication which we will provide. You may also experience some pinkish fluid discharge from the incision sites for 2-3 days, but don’t worry, this is normal, and the dressings will absorb it.

The pressure garment needs to be worn continuously, day and night, for the next 2 weeks, though you can take it off to wash or shower. For the 6 weeks after this, the pressure garment is to be worn “most of the time”. Please note, sometimes you may “feel” or “imagine” yourself to be bigger than you were before surgery! Again, this is normal and is entirely due to post-operative swelling and fluid retention which will decrease as you begin to heal.

The areas treated will remain sore and tender for a couple of days after your procedure, you are more than likely to feel tired and stiff because of this so although it is possible for you to return to work soon after, we would recommend that you take a few days off work if possible.

By the second week feelings of discomfort should be decreasing and the bruising should be subsiding. You will see the surgeon for a check-up around 7-10 days after the operation. They will remove any stitches which have not dissolved, and your dressings will be carefully removed.

Weeks 6-10

Your surgeon will see you again, usually 8-10 weeks after your procedure for a full post-operative consultation. By now you will be noticing visible results and the small scars will be fading. Yet lumpiness and numbness are likely to persist for several months. We normally advise you not to expect to see the full results for anything up to 6-9 months as your body heals.
